Andrea Kaelin arrived at TCU in July 2017 as an assistant coach and was promoted to associate head coach in July 2019.
The top-five team stroke averages in program history have come during each of Kaelin's five seasons at TCU, including a new record 290.3 in 2021-22.
The 2021-22 campaign, which culminated with TCU's first NCAA Championship appearance since 2010, saw TCU set a total of 26 team and individual program records. Caitlyn Macnab played in the 2022 Augusta National Women's Amateur, on the heels of Sabrina Iqbal representing TCU at the event the previous year.
Kaelin's recruiting efforts annually bring in a top class for TCU. Most recently, it was Charlotte Cattaneo and Sofia Barroso Sá. Cattaneo finished third at the 2021 Under 18 Match Play National Championship after capturing the event in 2019. Sá was the 2021 National Amateur and Absolute Champion as well as a two-time Federation Cup winner. Macnab signed in 2021 and was the top-ranked player in South Africa. In 2020, it was the addition of Lois Lau and Sabrina Nguyen. Lau was No. 247 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings with Nguyen at No. 194 on the Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Kaelin helped lead the 2018-19 Horned Frogs to two tournament titles. It marked the first time in Head Coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin's tenure, which has included 20 championships, to win back-to-back events. The season also included a top-25 national ranking. Additionally, Iqbal and Greta Bruner were named to the All-Big 12 Women's Golf Team. TCU's two selections on the squad were the second-most in the conference and equaled the Horned Frogs' total from their first six years combined in the Big 12.
An active member of the Women's Golf Coaches Association, Kaelin came to the Horned Frogs after serving the previous four years as head coach at Redlands Community College in El Reno, Okla.
Kaelin led Redlands to three National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship appearances. Each trip resulted in a sixth-place finish. Her squads totaled 11 regular season tournament wins, four consecutive regional championships and a high transfer rate of players to NCAA Division I. She also recruited the No. 1-ranked junior in South Africa.
Kaelin is a 2012 graduate of Florida State with a degree in professional golf management. She was a member of the women's golf program and part of three consecutive Seminoles' teams to reach the NCAA Regionals and earn a top-25 ranking.
Before arriving in Tallahassee, Kaelin played two seasons at Redlands Community College. She graduated cum laude and as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She helped lead Redlands to the NJCAA National Championship in both 2008 and 2009. She finished in third place in the individual standings at the 2009 NJCAA Championship and was a first-team All-American. She was a 2008 USGA Amateur Championship Qualifier.
Before returning to Redlands as head coach, Kaelin worked at several golf clubs as a golf professional and in management capacities.
