Tournament runs from Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at historic Pebble Beach Golf Links
FORT WORTH – TCU received an invitation to compete in the most prestigious regular season event in college women's golf.
The Horned Frogs will open the 2024-25 season at the Carmel Cup on Aug. 30-Sept. 1 on the grounds of historic Pebble Beach Golf Links.
This will be TCU's first time competing in the signature event. Pebble Beach Golf Links resides along the pacific coastline of the Monterey Peninsula in northern California, offering up some of the sport's most picturesque sights.
"What a way to kick off our season at such a prestigious event at one of the most iconic golf courses in the world, Pebble Beach!" said head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin. "We are so grateful and honored to compete in this first-class event. I am thrilled to take this team, as I know they will compete with passion and truly appreciate this opportunity."
TCU is part of an eight-team field boasting four programs apiece from the Big 12 and SEC. The trio of Big 12 teams teeing it up alongside the Horned Frogs are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
Teams engage in 18 holes of stroke play over the three-day affair. The Carmel Cup is a six-player lineup tournament with teams' five best scores counting at the conclusion of each round.
TCU brings back six players from last season, including four members of its Big 12 Championship lineup; Kirstin Angosta, Sofia Barroso Sá, Sofie Dimitrova and Meagan Winans. Rounding out the returning cast are juniors Sophie Anand and Charlotte Cattaneo. The Horned Frogs also welcome world No. 9 junior golfer Gracie McGovern and fellow freshman Camille Min-Gaultier to their 2024-25 roster.
