
More Records Fall on Day Three of Big 12’s

Three TCU records broken in the pool
Morgantown, W. Va. – The TCU swimming and diving team brought home four more medals and set three new school records on day three of the Big 12 Championships.
THE RUNDOWN
The final events began with the women's 1 meter dive where Emma Lacarda Herrera placed fourth in the b final setting a new personal best, earning an NCAA zone cut and made her way onto the TCU top 10 with a score of 300.
Anna Kwong represented the Horned Frogs in the championship finals where the junior earned both the bronze medal and NCAA zone cut scoring a 336.30.
Jeanne Dahmen got things started in the pool, placing fifth in the women's 100 fly (53.72). Piotr Sadlowski brought home the bronze medal on the men's side with an NCAA "B cut" time of 46.33.
Alessandra Senis showed out for the Frogs in the women's 400 IM setting a new school record and earning an NCAA "B cut" with a time of 4:16.87. The sophomore had already broken the school record during prelims where she swam a 4:17.71.
Geremia Freri and Kornel Kohalmi finished fifth and sixth in the in the men's 400 IM going 3:53.43 and 3:53.58, respectively.
Mikayla Popham finished seventh in the women's 200 freestyle touching the wall at 1:47.83. Kara Church made her way onto the TCU top 10 list with a time of 1:48.88 in the b final.
Back on the boards, Alec Hubbard earned his first men's 3-meter zone cut this season scoring a 364.60 in the b final. Oliver Cazaly and Elliott Dillon represented the Frogs in the championship final finishing sixth and eighth, respectively. The Englishmen both earned zone cuts with Cazaly scoring a 359.60 and Dillon a 356.10 tying his personal best.
The meet concluded with the 400 medley relays. The women's team of Tania Quaglieri, Nina Vadovicova, Olivia Rhodes and Jeanne Dahmen brought home bronze with a time of 3:37.27. The men's team was represented by Edgar Cicanci, Jadon Wuilliez, Sadlowski and Raphael Paiva Da Lima where the quad set a new school record and brought home silver in the event touching the wall at 3:07.77. Cicanci led the race off breaking the TCU 100 back record in the process with his 46.92 split.
After the third day of competition, the men's team holds steady in second place with a total score of 747. The women's team is in third behind Texas (1076) and Houston (597.50) with a score of 584.
