
Diving Concludes Midseason at UT Diving Invitational

AUSTIN – The TCU diving team wrapped up its midseason meet, the Texas Diving Invitational, with six Zone cuts and a first place finish by Anna Kwong. The three-day meet featured eight teams from across the country.
David Ekdahl and Kwong earned Zone cuts on both springboard events (1-meter, 3-meter). Ekdahl placed eighth on the 1m with a 332.70 and scored 337.35 on the 3m. He was one of nine divers to break the 300-point threshold in both events.
Kwong became the first female diver in program history to place first at the Texas Diving Invitational with a 313.00 in the 1m. She was one of two divers to break the 300-point threshold in both of her springboard events, also achieving a score of 325.80 on the 3m. Kwong finished fifth in overall points scored for the women.
Junior Oliver Cazaly had a season-best on the 3m, earning a Zone cut with a score of 344.90. He also competed on the 1m, scoring a 283.90.
Freshman Bryn James earned a Zone cut on the platform, scoring 322.70 points. James now has Zone cuts in all three events.
Elliott Dillon qualified for the finals on the 1m and the platform this weekend scoring 297.75 and 298.85, respectively.
Leah Fletcher and Lauren Cey competed in the platform finals on Sunday, finishing 14th and 15th with scores of 218.15 and 216.85.
The diving team will return to action in January with a women's meet on Jan. 17 against Iowa State.
