Dobson Qualifies for USATF U20 Championships

Dobson begins competing in the heptathlon on July 7
EUGENE, Ore. – Following a successful rookie season, Elise Dobson will compete in the heptathlon at the USATF U20 Championships on July 7-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Dobson is one of six athletes to earn an automatic qualification for the heptathlon. The first event, the 100m hurdles, begins at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, July 7. Her final event, the 800m, starts at 3:01 p.m. CT on Friday, July 8.
She earned the automatic-qualifying score (4950) for the USATF U20 Championships in the heptathlon at the 2023 Big 12 Outdoor Championships, where Dobson finished ninth overall with her score of 5037. Her score is the third highest in TCU outdoor program history.
In addition to her stellar outdoor season, Dobson owns the school record in the pentathlon. Her career-best 3602 points was also good for an eighth-place finish at the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Championships.
