FORT WORTH – Audrey Nalls of volleyball, Gracie Morris of cross country, Tyler Isgrig of soccer, and Max Duggan of football have all been named TCU Student-Athletes of the week, presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Nalls, a senior, tallied 49 kills and 33 digs to help TCU nail a pair of victories at the NC State Classic and notch a share of the tournament title. The native Texan also posted her career first 20-kill 20-dig performance during the Frogs five-set triumph over Indiana. She also tallied 28 points, 25 kills, and 20 digs during the match-up, all of which were career-highs.
The volleyball team will be back in the Schollmaier arena this weekend for the Horned Frog Invitational. The Horned Frog's first match-up of the weekend will be against Alabama on Friday. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Morris, a native of nearby Aledo, Texas, helped lead the cross country team to a silver medal finish over the weekend at the UTA season opener after winning the 5K with a time of 17:11.5 This is her second week in a row as the Frogs' top finisher.
The cross country team will hit the trails again this weekend as they head to College Station to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational. The meet kicks off this Friday at 8 a.m.
Isgrig continues to make an immediate impact during her debut season as a Horned Frog. She recently tallied seven points across the Frogs' match-ups against No.21 Texas A&M and Texas State. The freshman also fired off the game-winning goal against Texas State and the game-tying goal against Texas A&M.
Soccer will return to Garvey Rosenthal this Saturday for a home match-up against Harvard. The first kick is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Duggan recently made his 30th career start one to remember. The senior from Council Bluffs, Iowa passed for a career high 390 yards and five touchdowns this past Saturday to help lead the Frogs to a 59-17 home victory over Tarleton State. His five completions to the endzone now leave him tied in the Horned Frog record books for second highest number of touchdown passes in a single game.
Football will take a one week break from competition before traveling to Dallas next weekend to face SMU in the annual battle for the Iron Skillet on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kick-off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
