Horned Frogs begin postseason play Monday in Albuquerque
FORT WORTH -- The TCU women's golf team begins NCAA Regional play Monday in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Horned Frogs are making their 24th appearance in the last 26 postseasons.
The Event
The Albuquerque Regional will be held at the par 72, 7,248-yard UNM Championship Golf Course. The 54-hole tournament will take place over three days. TCU's Monday tee times begin at 9 a.m. CDT.
Each of the six regional sites feature 12 teams and six individuals. The top-four teams and two individuals not on an advancing team will move on to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship May 20-25 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
TCU is seeded sixth in Albuquerque. Joining the Horned Frogs in the 12-team regional, in order of seeding, are Oregon, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Louisville, North Texas, Oklahoma, Sam Houston State, Northern Arizona and New Mexico State.

Going Low

The Graduate
Sabrina Iqbal takes the course for TCU as a graduate student. The three-time Academic All-Big 12 recipientreceived her degree Saturday in entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Lineup
TCU's lineup will feature Caitlyn Macnab, Sabrina Iqbal, Lois Lau, Trinity King and Valeria Pacheco.
Macnab, ranked 24th nationally by Golfstat, has a team-best 71.1 stroke average that is on pace to break Iqbal's TCU season record of 72.0 from the 2019-20 campaign. A freshman from Johannesburg, South Africa, Macnab has five top-3 finishes, including three runner-up results, in her last eight tournaments. Most recently, she tied for third at the Big 12 Championship and was just two strokes off the lead. At the Jim West Challenge, in just her third collegiate tournament, Macnab carded a 13-under 203 to break the TCU 54-hole record of 204 set by Iqbal at the season-opening Sam Golden Invitational.
A senior from San Jose, Calif., Iqbal holds six TCU career records with the latest being her 9-under 63 in final-round play to win The Bruzzy in Fort Worth last month. Her 71.5 stroke average is also on pace to break her program record 72.0 from two seasons ago. Iqbal, ranked 48th nationally by Golfweek, has a team-best 10 sub-70 scores this season. She has 27 career top-20 results, including 17 in the top 10, in 39 career tournaments. This will be her third NCAA Regional.
Lau's 74.0 stroke average is third at TCU. She tied for 19th at the Big 12 Championship, her third top-20 finish in nine tournaments this season.
King will be in her third consecutive tournament. The junior from Arlington, Texas, posted a season-best finish when she tied for 11th at the Big 12 Championship.
Pacheco joins Macnab and Iqbal as the lone Horned Frogs to play in all 10 tournaments. The senior from Hallandale Beach, Fla., is having a career-best season with her 74.7 stroke average.
