Three earn weekly honors
FORT WORTH – Caitlyn Macnab of women's golf along with Luke Boyers and Garrett Wright of baseball, have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Macnab is making her debut season as a Horned Frog one for the record books. The freshmen from South Africa was recently named to the Big-12 All-Tournament Team after tying for third at the Big 12 Championship where she finished just 2 strokes shy of the lead. Macnab's podium finish was the highest in TCU history at the Big 12 Championship since Kortnie Maxoutopoulis finished third in 2015.
Women's golf's next opportunity to add to their trophy case will be at the NCAA Regionals May 9-11.
Boyers and Wright are two of the many standouts in the line-up as baseball continues to vie for its second straight league title.
Boyers tallied three hits in the series at Oklahoma State, including a three-run homer in Saturday's victory and a game-tying double to secure the win for the Frogs on Sunday.
Wright's two-day stint on the mound paid off for the Frogs after the native Texan was struck out the lone batter he faced on Saturday and subsequently stranded the game-tying run at second to close out Sunday's 7-6 win.
Baseball will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. for a road series at Florida State. The first game of the series is scheduled for April 29at 6 p.m. (CT) and will be broadcast on ACCNX.
