Barber, Hemphill, Horton and Lau Honored by TCU
FORT WORTH -- Kristen Hemphill of rifle, Lois Lau of women's golf, Taye Barber and Dylan Horton of football have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the week, presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Hemphill, a graduate senior, became the fourth Horned Frogs in school history to fire a perfect 600 in the air rifle. She led TCU to a victory at the triangular match at Ohio State.
Rifle will return to action on Nov. 5-6 for a triangular match in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Lau, a junior from France, shot a career-best 11-under 202 at the Battle of the Beach, finishing second place in the tournament. She led TCU to a second-place finish overall.
Women's golf's next outing will be in Glendale, Arizona for the Match of the Desert on Jan. 23.
Barber, a senior from Cypress, Texas, hauled in a team-best four catches for 99 yards. The receiver opened up the scoring for the Frogs with a 71-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter.
Horton, a senior from Frisco, Texas, totaled five tackles along with two sacks at West Virginia. Both of the defensive lineman's sacks came in the second half in which the Mountaineers only scored one touchdown.
No. 7 ranked TCU football will host Texas Tech Saturday, Nov. 5.
