Gracie Morris of Cross Country, Audrey Nalls of Volleyball, Johnny Hodges and Kendre Miller of Football have been named the TCU Student-Athletes of the week, Presented by Bobs Steak and Chop House.
Morris finished second overall at the NCAA South Central Regional in Bryan-College Station, Texas with a time of 20:17.1. With the finish, Morris became the first TCU woman to qualify for the cross-country nationals since 2016.
Next up the TCU cross country team will travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma to compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 8:00 a.m. The meet will be televised on ESPNU.
Nalls led the TCU volleyball team in points (25.5), kills (22), and hitting percentage (.364) en route to the Horned Frogs upset of No. 10 Baylor on Saturday afternoon at Schollmaier Arena. Nalls received Big 12 Offensive Player of the week for the third time this season and became the first in program history to earn that award three times in one season. In addition, Nalls continues to lead the Big 12 in kills (224), kills per set (4.57), points (243.5) and points per set (4.97) in conference play.
The TCU Volleyball team will travel to Morgantown, West Virginia on Nov. 16 to take on the Mountaineers at 5:00 p.m. The match will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
Johnny Hodges and Kendre Miller of the TCU football team both had stellar weeks. Hodges totaled a team-best and season-high 11 tackles, more than double the next-closest Horned Frog, leading the TCU defense that held Texas to three offensive points, 199 yards, and 1-for-13 on third-down conversions. Hodges also combined on a fourth-down tackle for no gain on a fourth-and-one Bijan Robinson rush on Texas' opening series to set the tone for the game.
On the opposite side of the ball, Kendre Miller posted his fifth consecutive 100-yard game, the longest streak by a Horned Frog since Lonta Hobbs with five in 2002. His 75-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter gave him a rushing score in all 10 games this year and his streak of 11 consecutive games with a rushing TD is the longest active in the nation. He is the second in TCU history behind LaDainian Tomlinson (15, 1999-2000)
The TCU football team is back on the road this week in Waco, Texas, as they face off against Baylor. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
