IRVING – The accolades continue to roll in for TCU equestrian.
Junior Giorgia Meadows was named Big 12 Rider of the Month in Horsemanship for September as voted on by conference head coaches.
The announcement of Meadows' honor comes one day after TCU garnered the No. 1 overall NCEA Dual Discipline Team Ranking for the first time in school history.
Originally from Cuba, Missouri, Meadows posted a 2-0 record in Horsemanship and Reining to steer the Horned Frogs to a tiebreaker victory over No. 2 Texas A&M on Sept. 23. She was named Most Outstanding Performer in both events. Meadows earned a score of 77 in Horsemanship and was awarded 76 points in reining.
Meadows' performance was invaluable in helping TCU edge past the Aggies. The Horned Frogs finished with a 738.5-650.5 advantage in Western.
Wednesday's announcement marks Meadows' first Big 12 Rider of the Month honor.
She sports an 18-9 career record and three sets of Most Outstanding Performer credentials in Horsemanship.
Meadows and TCU continue the fall portion of the 2022-23 season on Oct. 13 with a twin bill against Delaware State and No. 9 UT Martin in Dover, Delaware.
