TCU kicks off the season against Texas
FORT WORTH – TCU Swimming and Diving opens up their season on Friday at the Dust your Boots off Invitational at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The divers are set to begin at 1 p.m. followed by swim at 3 p.m.

The Horned Frogs are coming off one of the most historic seasons in program history. The Frogs received two yearly awards for there efforts in 2021-22. Head coach James Winchester was named the Men's National Invitational Championship Coach of the Year and Geremia Freri was also named the Men's National Invitational Men's Swimmer of the Year.
Last season, three Horned Frogs qualified for the NCAA Championships. David Ekdahl (1-meter and 3-meter), Janis Silins (100 breaststroke) and Alec Hubbard (Platform) all appeared at the NCAA Championships, the first time since 2014. The Frogs look to continue their success into the 2022-23 season. The men's team are coming off a second place conference finish, while the women finished in third.
Last Time vs. Texas
The last time the Horned Frogs faced off against the Longhorns was in the Big 12 Conference Championships last season, where the Frogs shattered 12 school records.
Ekdahl became the first TCU diver to win an individual championship since the Horned Frogs joined the Big 12 with a score of 372.20 in the 1-meter. Hubbard and Faith Harms-Zacharias both placed third on platform. Hubbard scored 372.50, while Harms-Zacharias scored a 264.90 which catapulted her to a score record.
Rylee Moore also delivered by breaking three school records (100 backstroke-twice, 200 backstroke). She earned two top three finishes including earing the silver in the 200 backstroke. Freri also broke a school record in the 500 freestyle and the 400 IM. The 200 men's freestyle relay team took home gold with Jadon Williez breaking the 50 freestyle school record during his leg. The men's 800 freestyle relay team took part in breaking a school record as well.
