Chew joins the Horned Frogs after three seasons at IUPUI
Head coach Darryl Anderson announced today the addition of Marissa Chew to the TCU track & field staff as an assistant coach.
"Chew is one of the great young minds in our sport of track and field," Anderson said. "She has certifications in everything, from strength and conditioning to jumps and sprints and combined events. She will work with us in the sprint area and in the multi events area."
Chew joins the Horned Frogs after three seasons at IUPUI where she coached the sprinters, jumpers and multis events. During her time with the Jaguars, her athletes set 12 school records.
Prior to IUPUI, Chew spent one season at Wabash. She also served as the jumps coach at San Francisco State from 2014-16.
She has achieved the highest certification through USATF as she is trained Level 3 in Jumps. She also has Level 2 training in Jumps, Youth, Combined Events and Springs/Hurdles/Relays. Through USTFCCA, she also has certification in Strength and Conditioning.
Chew competed on San Francisco State's track & field team from 1999-00 in the long jump and triple jump. She graduated from Long Beach State with a BA in Kinesiology and Physical Education with an emphasis on Secondary Education and a RYAN K-12 teaching credential in 2003.
"I'd like to thank TCU's Athletics administration for the opportunity to be a part of such a great institution and program," Chew said. "Thank you to Coach Anderson for his trust to be a leader for his team and for allowing me to be under his tutelage as I continue my growth as a track and field coach. Being surrounded by such rich history and promise for future athletes, I am excited to jump right in and get to work."
