TCU Volleyball has signed Zoe Hall and Abby Carlile to the 2021 roster
FORT WORTH – TCU Volleyball and head coach Jill Kramer have announced the signing of two new Horned Frogs, Zoe Hall and Abby Carlile. Hall joins TCU as a true freshman, while Carlile comes to Fort Worth as a graduate transfer from UAB. Both players will be eligible for the 2021 season, beginning on August 27.
Zoe Hall | MB/OH | 6'2" | Bridgeport, Texas | Bridgeport HS | Drive Nation
Hall comes to TCU as a reclassified freshman after a prolific high school career. She was named MVP of her high school team at Bridgeport HS in 2020 and 2021 as well as earning all-district honors both seasons. She was ranked in the Top 10 of MB in her class and the Top 15 among OH. In club, she joined Drive Nation in the middle of her high school campaign, reaching the National Championships in the summer of 2021 as an opposite/outside hitter.
"Zoe will graduate a year early and has reclassified from the 2022 class to the 2021 class," Kramer said "She is a powerful and dynamic utility player with great court sense and volleyball IQ. Zoe is also an outstanding blocker and can terminate from anywhere along the net. She is very competitive and intense, and at the same time plays with an immense amount of joy and optimism. Our team is excited to welcome her to campus soon!"
Abby Carlile | OPP/OH | 5'11" | Southlake, Texas | UAB
Carlile joins the TCU volleyball family as a graduate transfer from UAB. As a Blazer, she tallied 600 career kills, 241 digs and 146 blocks over four seasons, including five double-doubles. She set career-bests in kills and digs in her junior season (2019) against Charlotte, posting 23 kills and 18 digs. She graduated from UAB with a major in industrial distribution and a concentration in medical supplies and management.
"Abby will be a great addition to our team for many reasons," Kramer said. "I've absolutely loved getting to know her through the recruiting process. She's mature, thoughtful, has a solid work ethic, and will be a great teammate. Abby is left-handed which will give us a different look for scouting purposes in the practice gym and a different offensive option in match play. She will top-off her collegiate career tied to the TCU Volleyball lineage, which will serve both her and our team equally well."
Carlile returns to the DFW area as one of seven Horned Frogs with local ties on the 2021 roster. She joins juniors MyKayla Myers (Coppell), Julia Adams (Plano), McKenzie Nichols (Southlake), Audrey Nalls (Waxahachie), Afedo Manyang (Fort Worth) and Cecily Bramschreiber (Lucas).
