FORT WORTH – Austin Krob and Zach Humphreys of baseball, and Katie Clark and Afedo Manyang of volleyball have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week, Presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Krob led the Frogs to an 11-2 win on Saturday against Baylor. He carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before surrendering his only hit of the game. He completed the game with a career high seven innings, one hit, and nine strikeouts. Krob was recognized by the Big 12 for his performance by being named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. Humphreys continued his hot hitting for the Frogs by tallying seven hits in three games against Baylor. He raised his average by 48 points and extended his hitting streak to five games.
The Frogs return to the diamond this weekend at Oklahoma.
Clark and Manyang led the Frogs to two road wins against Oklahoma. On Friday, Clark tallied 11 kills and five blocks. Over her last three matches, she is averaging 3.54 kills/set on .407 hitting with 1.38 blocks/set. On Saturday, Manyang hit .400 with 10 kills, her fourth .300+ hitting match of the year and the ninth such match of her career. She also recorded a career high of five blocks.
The volleyball team will next host Texas on Thursday and Friday at Schollmaier Arena.
