Horned Frogs look to continue the momentum from a strong start to the spring season
FORT WORTH -- The TCU women's golf team returns to action Monday when it begins play at the Icon Invitational in Humble, Texas.
The Horned Frogs will look to continue the momentum from their second-place finish at the Lamkin Invitational (Feb. 8-9) in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. It was TCU's second runner-up result in four team tournaments this season.
The Event
TCU is playing in the Icon Invitational for the fifth consecutive spring. This year's tournament will take place at the par 72, 6,392-yard Golf Club of Houston. Thirty-six holes will be played Monday with 18 Tuesday. Both days will feature an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The Horned Frogs were fifth at last year's Icon Invitational, while Sabrina Iqbal tied for seventh individually with a 2-under-par 214.
The Field
Joining TCU and host Houston in the 15-team field are Baylor, Kent State LSU, Michigan State, North Texas, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Purdue, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State and Texas Tech.

The Lineup
TCU's lineup will feature Sabrina Iqbal, Lois Lau, Sabrina Nguyen, Jennie Park and Valeria Pacheco.
Iqbal, who received an invitation earlier this week to play in the 2021 Augusta National Women's Amateur, has posted a top-20 result in 18 of 25 career tournaments. Included in that total are 12 top-10 finishes. Most recently, she led TCU with a tie for eighth at the Lamkin Invitational.
Lau, a freshman from Noisy-sur-Ecole, France, is tied with Park for the team lead in stroke average at 74.1. Lau is one of three Horned Frogs to play in each tournament this season and has posted consecutive top-10 finishes with a total of three top-12 results. She is tied for the team lead with two sub-70 rounds.
Nguyen, also a freshman, tied for 14th at the Lamkin Invitational while playing just outside her hometown of Escondido, Calif. She will be in her fourth tournament of the season.
Park has posted a top-20 finish in four of five events this season, highlighted by a tie for sixth at the Schooner Fall Classic. The sophomore from Carrollton, Texas, has played in all 14 tournaments as a Horned Frog with eight top-20 results.
Pacheco's 74.4 stroke average is fourth on TCU. She tied for 18th at the Lamkin Invitational, her fourth career top-20 finish.
