Ten Named Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball

This is the most Academic All-Big 12 recipients in program history
FORT WORTH – Ten members of the TCU volleyball team were part of the 85 student-athletes named to the 2021 Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. This is the most Academic All-Big 12 recipients in program history.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. Dani Dennison has earned first team recognition for the third straight season. Afedo Manyang, Mykayla Myers, McKenzie Nichols, Bella Swafford, Ashley Wehrstein and Audrey Nalls have been honored for the second time in their careers while Madilyn Cole and Alyssa Heist earned first-team recognition for the first time. Taylor Raiola was named to the Academic second team for the first time in her career as well.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
