FORT WORTH – Gracie Brian of soccer, Taylor Raiola of volleyball, along with Mike Miles and Emanuel Miller of men's basketball have all been named TCU Student-Athletes of the week, presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Brian, a junior from Frisco, Texas, is off to a stellar start this postseason. The midfielder recorded a hat trick after scoring three goals and an assist as the Frogs dominated Prairie View A&M in an 8-0 victory.
The soccer team will continue NCAA tournament play this Friday in Piscataway, N.J. with a matchup against Princeton. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Raiola, a sophomore from Scottsdale, Ariz., had a weekend for the record books as her team battled the sixth-ranked Baylor Bears. She recorded a team-high 37 total kills over the weekend, and a career-high 22 kills during Saturday's match. Averaging 4.11 kills per set Raiola was the only underclassmen in the Big 12 to notch more than four kills per set last week.
Volleyball will travel to Lawrence, Kan. this weekend for a pair of matches against the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday and Saturday. The matches are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. each day and will be available to stream on Big 12 Now on ESPN+
Miles, Miller and men's basketball recorded a pair of home wins over McNeese and Southern Miss
Miles, a sophomore from Highland Hills, Texas, lead the team in scoring for both games, averaging 21 points and 5.5 assists. This was his sixth career game scoring 20 or more points and 20th in which he reached double figures in scoring.
Miller, a junior from Scarborough, Ontario, recorded his 10th career double-double after achieving the feat in both games. The Texas A&M transfer notched a total of 24 points and 26 rebounds during the pair of victories.
Men's basketball will look to continue their two-game winning streak with a home game against Nicholls on Thursday at 7 p.m.
