Grundsoee, Lancaster and Raiola win weekly award
FORT WORTH - Camryn Lancaster of soccer, Stephanie Grundsoee of rifle and Taylor Raiola of volleyball have been named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Lancaster is a freshman forward from Mansfield, Texas. She scored the game-winning goal last Friday night against Kansas State in a close 3-2 battle. This marked the freshman's seventh goal of the season and her second career game-winning goal. Additionally, Lancaster achieved her seventh assist of the season. Earlier this week she was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week.
The Horned Frogs are set to play Texas Tech in Lubbock on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Grundsoee is a sophomore air rifle/smallbore from Roskilde, Denmark. As the undefeated TCU rifle squad faced The Citadel last week in Charleston, she led all shooters in the match. Grundsoee shot a career-high 596 in smallbore. This not only was a personal achievement, but marked as the second highest in TCU history. She also finished air rifle with a 593, placing her third overall. Grundsoee led all shooters with an aggregate average of 1,189 for the win over the Bulldogs.
TCU looks to continue their undefeated status in West Point this Saturday against Army.
Raiola is a sophomore outside hitter from Scottsdale, Ariz. Over the past weekend's series split with Kansas State, she led the team with 25 kills and 26 digs. She recorded double-doubles in both matches. She made seven kills on nine swings in the fourth set in Thursday's 3-1 victory, a hitting percentage of .780. Raiola leads all Big 12 hitters with 2.93 digs/set in conference matches this season, with 3.25 digs/set throughout this last week.
