FORT WORTH -- Both Marie Norris and Addy Guevara of women's tennis, along with Stephanie Grundsoee of women's rifle, were named TCU Student-Athletes of the Week presented by Bob's Steak and Chop House.
Norris and Guevara were reunited as a doubles pairing at the TCU Invitational. The duo finished the weekend with a 3-1 record, including a victory that saw them overcome a 3-0 deficit against Houston. Along with their stellar play as a tandem, Guevara and Norris were each awarded singles titles after both finished the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record in singles play. The two players contributed to nine of the Horned Frogs 20 wins, as well as two of three titles claimed by TCU during the four-day tournament.
Stephanie Grundsoee notched a career-high 599 in air rifle, leading the field as TCU defeated Akron by a score of 4,716-4,670 on Sunday. In smallbore, Grundsoee finished second with a 587, only trailing her fellow teammate, Kristen Hemphill. The sophomore from Roskilde, Denmark, paced all shooters for a second straight match, recording an aggregate score of 1,186. She currently ranks fourth in the NCAA in aggregate and is tied for second nationally in air rifle.
