Frogs Earn 13 All-America Honors

FORT WORTH – Six members of the TCU women's rifle team earned a combined 13 All-America honors from the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) and the National Rifle Association (NRA) over the weekend. Stephanie Grundsoee and Kristen Hemphill were also tabbed unanimous first-team All-Americans.
All five of the Horned Frog counters were recognized. Additionally, TCU was one of two universities to have at least six athletes receive All-America honors, joining West Virginia.
Grundsoee capped off her successful freshman campaign with first-team All-American honors across the board. The Denmark native owned top-five averages in smallbore and air rifle, earning her first-team All-American accolades from the NRA. She also received first-team CRCA honors after leading the Frogs with an average aggregate mark of 1,180.7, which ranked third in the nation.
Hemphill joined her teammate, earning unanimous first-team honors. The sophomore picked up first-team CRCA honors after posting the fourth-best aggregate average in the NCAA this season with a mark of 1,179.7. She was named a first-team air rifle performer for the second straight season by the NRA. This season, Hemphill fired a 595 or better in 10 of 12 matches, including a career-high 599 in the Patriot Rifle Conference Championship match. She also received first-team smallbore honors.
Casey Lutz captured three more All-American nods. She was a first-team NRA air rifle performer, after posting a season average of 594.0 and claiming the PRC Individual Air Rifle Title. Lutz was also a second-team CRCA and NRA smallbore All-American. The senior ends her TCU career as an 11 time All-American.
Junior Elizabeth Marsh claimed two All-American honors. She was a second-team CRCA All-American and a first-team selection in smallbore. This season, she posted the fifth-best smallbore average in the country with a mark of 584.8.
Grace Taschuk ended her freshman season with All-American honors. She earned a second-team NRA air rifle selection after finishing the year with an average mark of 592.2 in the discipline. Abigail Gordon was also named as an All-American Honorable Mention by the NRA in air rifle for the second straight season.
