Horned Frogs 1 Stroke Off The Lead at ICON Invitational

TCU is one stroke off the lead heading into Tuesday's final round
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- A second round 6-under-par 282 moved the TCU women's golf team into third place, just one stroke off the lead, after Monday's opening two rounds of the ICON Invitational.
TCU's 282 tied for the fifth-best round in program history. All five Horned Frogs improved their scores in the second round with four of them by at least four strokes. All four scores counted in the team total were par or better.
At 2-over 578, TCU is one shot behind No. 5 Kent State and Purdue who are tied at 577. TCU leads No. 1 Texas who is in fourth at 579.
TCU sophomore Sabrina Iqbal is tied for second with a 2-under-par 142, two shots behind individual leader Sophie Guo of Texas. Iqbal's second round 3-under 69 marked her fourth sub-70 round of the season and ninth of her career. The San Jose, Calif., native had four birdies and par on 13 holes.
TCU freshmen Trinity King and Jennie Park are tied for eighth and 15th, respectively.
King recorded a second round eagle on the par 4, 360-yard 11th hole. The Arlington, Texas, native also had three birdies en route to a 2-under 70. She's at even-par 144.
Park began the back nine of the second round with three consecutive birdies and had four in a six-hole stretch for an even-par 72. She's at 1-over 145. The Carrollton, Texas, native had two first-round birdies.
Greta Bruner's second-round 71, equaling a season-best, included three birdies and par on 13 holes. Bruner's six birdies on the day tied Iqbal and Park for the team lead.
Valeria Pacheco had a birdie with par on 15 holes for her second-round 73.
Tuesday's final round will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start with live scoring at Golfstat.com.
