Horned Frogs begin play Monday in The Woodlands
FORT WORTH -- The TCU women's golf team returns to action Monday when it begins play at the ICON Invitational in The Woodlands, Texas.
The Event
The Horned Frogs are playing in the ICON Invitational for the fourth straight spring. The tournament is held at the par 72, 6,392-yard The Woodlands Country Club. The Horned Frogs were fourth at last year's event, just five strokes behind host Houston for the team championship. TCU was at 1-under 575 over the final 36 holes, tying the Cougars for the low score in the final two rounds.
Greta Bruner, playing just outside her hometown of Conroe, tied a TCU 54-hole record with a 6-under 210 and was the individual runner-up at the 2019 ICON Invitational.
The tournament format is 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday. Both days will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
In addition to TCU and Houston, the 14-team field includes Kennesaw State, Kent State, North Texas, Purdue, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UTSA and Virginia Tech.

Quote of the Day
"We have had a really demanding and intentional week of practice," TCU Head Women's Golf Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "Everyone did a great job of focusing and working hard on their games. We committed to our process and staying present. We always look forward to playing in Texas and having a lot of fan support."
The Horned Frogs
TCU's lineup will feature Jennie Park, Sabrina Iqbal, Valeria Pacheco, Greta Bruner and Trinity King. Bruner is the lone senior with the remainder of Horned Frogs being freshmen and sophomores.
Iqbal (72.4) and Park (72.6) are both on pace to break TCU's season record for stroke average (72.9, Emmy Martin, 2016-17).
Park, a freshman from Carrollton, Texas, has been TCU's top finisher in each of the last two tournaments. She has a pair of top-20 results on the season and earned November Big 12 Women's Golfer of the Month accolades when she tied for fifth at the Battle at the Beach with a career best 5-under 211.
Iqbal has 13 career top-20 finishes, including eight in the top 10, in 17 collegiate tournaments. The sophomore from San Jose, Calif., set a TCU 54-hole record with a 7-under 209 at the season-opening Golfweek Conference Challenge.
Pacheco established a new TCU single-round mark with an 8-under 64 at the Jim West Challenge. She has played in all six tournaments this season with a 75.9 stroke average.
Bruner, like Iqbal, was an All-Big 12 recipient last year when she posted a 73.5 stroke average. She will be in her third tournament of the season.
King, a freshman from Arlington, Texas, is third on TCU with a 73.4 stroke average. She has a pair of top-20 results.
