Horned Frogs begin play Saturday in Austin
FORT WORTH -- The TCU women's golf team returns to action Saturday when it begins play at the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas.
When Last in Action
TCU opened its season Sept. 27-28 with a tie for second place at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Okla. Nine of the 11 teams in the field were Big 12 members. Jennie Park was the top Horned Frog as she tied for sixth with a 2-over-par 212.
The Event
The Betsy Rawls Invitational is held at the par 72, 6,331-yard UT Golf Club. This year's format will feature 36 holes Saturday and 18 Sunday.
The Horned Frogs are playing in the Betsy Rawls Invitational for the second straight fall. At last year's event, TCU finished ninth. Its 4-under-par 284 over the final 18 holes tied for the 17th-best round in the tournament's 47-year history. The Horned Frogs were also 1 under over the final two rounds. Sabrina Iqbal carded a then-career low 5-under 67, tying for the fifth-best round at TCU and the sixth-best score in the tournament's history. She tied for ninth with a 1-under 215. Jennie Park recorded her first career eagle on the par 4, 374-yard sixth hole.
Under current head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin, TCU won the 1997 Betsy Rawls Invitational. During the Horned Frogs' 1983 national championship season, Rae Rothfelder was the event's medalist.
The Field
Joining TCU and host Texas in this fall's 10-team field are Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas State and Texas Tech.

The Lineup
TCU's lineup will feature Jennie Park, Lois Lau, Sabrina Iqbal, Grace Do and Sabrina Nguyen.
Park was TCU's top finisher at the season-opening Schooner Fall Classic, tying for sixth with a 2-over212. It was the second career top-10 finish for the sophomore from Carrollton, Texas.
Lau, a freshman from Noisy-sur-Ecole, France, tied for 12th at the Schooner Fall Classic in her TCU debut. She improved her score by two strokes each round, closing with a final round even-par 70 that included four birdies.
Iqbal has 17 top-20 finishes in 21 events as a Horned Frog, her latest being a tie for 12th at the Schooner Fall Classic. Her second-round 66, which included four birdies and par on 14 holes, equaled a career-best from last year's final round at the Battle at the Beach.
Do, the lone senior in the TCU lineup, is making her season debut.
Nguyen, a freshman from Escondido, Calif., will be playing in her first tournament as a Horned Frog.
