
TCU Splits Day 1 of Match Play

Frogs continue play Saturday at 1:30
HOCKLEY, Texas – TCU went 1-1 on the first day of the Big 12 Match Play Tournament at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
No. 4 seeded TCU lost to No. 5 Baylor 4-2-0 in its morning match and defeated No. 8 West Virginia 3-2-1 in the afternoon. The Frogs will next face No. 9 Iowa State Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Sophomore Gustav Frimodt has the most success for the Frogs, defeating Baylor's Brandon Hoff, 3&2, and tying with Jackson Davenport of West Virginia.
TCU earned three points on the day, tied with Baylor for second in Pool A. Both teams trail No. 1 seed Oklahoma which has six points. The team with the most points in Pool A will play the point leader in Pool B for the championship Sunday afternoon.
