WACO, Texas – The TCU equestrian program has been ranked No. 8 in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association preseason poll, as announced Wednesday.
"Our ranking is a great start and it is exciting to have these rankings as it signals the SEC is starting," TCU Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield said. "While we are still preparing for our season, this gives us some fire to get better and keep moving up the ladder to get to where we as a coaching staff feel we can be in March and April."
The last time the Frogs opened the year ranked No. 8, they finished the season runner-up, falling to Auburn, 8-7, in the National Championship.
TCU finds itself ranked inside the top-10 for the eighth straight year and has been a part of the preseason poll every year since the formation of the NCEA.
The Frogs will wait until the new year to compete, facing South Dakota State and UT Martin in a doubleheader competition on Jan. 28.
