Iqbal, King and Park to represent TCU
FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf program is represented by Sabrina Iqbal, Trinity King and Jennie Park at the 2019 U.S. Women's Amateur.
This year's event began Monday at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss. Television coverage starts Wednesday at 3 p.m. CDT on FS1.
Iqbal, who also qualified for the 2019 U.S. Women's Open, was All-Big 12 as a freshman this past year. Her team-best 73.0 stroke average was just short of Emmy Martin's TCU season record of 72.9 in 2017.
Iqbal closed her freshman campaign with 10 consecutive top-20 finishes, including five in the top 10. The San Jose, Calif., native was a medalist at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational in just her second collegiate tournament. She had a team-best five sub-70 rounds on the season.
King, from Arlington, Texas, and Park, a native of Carrollton, Texas, will be incoming freshmen this fall. King and Park were ranked as Golfweek's top-two ranked players in Texas for the Class of 2019.
