
TCU Track and Field Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

Lily Beckford and Destiny Longmire named to USTFCCCA All-Academic team
FORT WORTH -- TCU's women's track and field team was honored by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their commitment to academic success throughout the 2019 season with two selections to the All-Academic team.
Lily Beckford and Destiny Longmire represented the Horned Frog on the All-Academic list. Beckford recorded a cumulative grade-point average of 3.667 while Longmire registered a 3.272. The women's team as a whole also earned team honors with a 3.18 GPA.
Longmire recently garnered her third All-America honor after finishing fourth in the long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, in Austin. She jumped a career-best 6.55m (21-6) in her fifth and final attempt.
Beckford, a former member of the British Junior team,qualified for the NCAA West Prelims in the 400m this past season. She finished eighth in the conference in the 400m with a time of 53.68 at the 2019 Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must compile a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
Teams must finish highly at national competition and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
