WACO, Texas – Following a strong regular-season campaign, the TCU equestrian program has earned the No. 8 seed in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's Team National Championship bracket.
"It's an honor to be invited to the NCEA Championship among so many outstanding teams," TCU Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield said. "We are well aware we will have our work cut out for us as we take on Auburn in the first round. We will be both prepared and rested for our first competition in Waco."
The Frogs finished the regular season with a record of 6-8, 1-3 in the Big 12. The first-round matchup pits TCU against No. 1 Auburn. The Tigers are undefeated on the year and winners of both the SEC regular season and conference championships.
In individual events, TCU picked up the No. 2 seed in Equitation over Fences, earning a first-round bye. In the second round, the Horned Frogs will take on the winner of Georgia and South Dakota State.
TCU is the No. 7 seed in Horsemanship and will face Delaware State in round one. In Equitation on the Flat and Reining, the Frogs are the No. 9 seed. On the Flat TCU will face UT Martin, while in Reining it faces South Carolina.
