Fisher Earns Academic Honors for Third-Straight Year
FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU's men's golf team had four named Academic All-Big 12 Conference.
With a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, Trevor Brown, Triston Fisher and Hayden Springer were all on the first team. David Ravetto was on the second team with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 to 3.19.
Brown, sophomore from Austin, Texas, has competed in four tournaments this season. He had a season-best score of 1-over 217 at the Lake Charles Invitational on March 19. Brown, who played his freshman season at Rice, is majoring in financial real estate.
A finance major, Fisher earned first team honors for the third-straight season. The senior from Southlake, Texas has competed in seven tournaments this season with his best round coming in the opener with a 7-under 209 at the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach.
Springer, a senior from Trophy Club, Texas, has posted a career-best round average of 71.57 this season. The entrepreneurial management major has shot par or better in 15 of his 21 rounds this season and shot a career-best 13-under 203 for a second place finish at the Lake Charles Invitational. Springer is ranked No. 97 in the nation according to GolfStat.
A marketing major from Paris, France, Ravetto is enjoying the best season of his career with a n average of 71.33, which ranks second on the team. His winning score of 19-under 197 at the Lake Charles Invitational stands as the best 54-hole score in program history. Three of Ravetto's four top 20 finishes have come in his last three tournaments.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
