
Iqbal Tied For The Lead at LSU Tiger Golf Classic

Horned Frogs in 2nd place, just 3 strokes out
BATON ROUGE, La. -- TCU freshman Sabrina Iqbal carded a 3-under-par 69 and is tied for the individual lead, while the 18th-ranked Horned Frogs are second as a team after Friday's opening round of the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.
TCU's 294 is just three strokes behind No. 25 Campbell's 291.
"We showed lots of grit today and played with discipline even through some mistakes," TCU Head Women's Golf Coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We put ourselves in good position, learned a lot and are ready for another fun day!"
Iqbal, from San Jose, Calif., recorded her team-best fifth sub-70 round of the season and is tied with Campbell's Emily Hawkins atop the leaderboard. Iqbal totaled five birdies and was 5 under over her final 13 holes.
Annika Clark, the lone senior in the TCU lineup, had a birdie and shot par on 14 holes en route to a 74. The Highlands, Texas, native is tied for 12th.
Greta Bruner, the No. 41 player in the nation, posted a pair of birdies in contributing a 75 for the Horned Frogs. She is tied for 15th. Grace Do had a birdie in adding a 76, while Valeria Pacheco also had two birdies for TCU.
