
Six Named Lage Academic Achievement Award Recipients

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced its 111 student-athlete recipients of its highest academic honor, the 2019 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award. The award is in honor of former Oklahoma State faculty athletics representative Gerald Lage, who represented the school from 1983-2007 with the NCAA and the Big Eight/Big 12 Conference.
Among the recipients were six TCU student-athletes:
Name, Class, Sport, Major
Laska Anderson, Junior, Equestrian, History and Biology
Megan Bowers, Junior, Swimming & Diving, Movement Science
Nathan Guyton, Senior, Football, Psychology
Molly Hamel, Senior, Cross Country, Accounting
Amanda Key, Junior, Swimming & Diving, Biology
Brooke McDougald, Senior, Women's Golf, Communications
In order to be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have lettered at least once in their career while maintaining residence at their institution for at least one academic year. The honoree, which can only be recognized once, should have 100 hours of earned credit with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.80 at the time of the nomination.
The recipients' names will be featured on the video board at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship, scheduled for March 13-16 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
