
Frogs Finish Fourth at Wyoming Desert

Mazzoli leads the Frogs with an eighth place finish
PALM DESERT, Calif. – TCU's men's golf team finished in fourth place Sunday as the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate concluded at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
Senior Stefano Mazzoli was the top finisher for the Frogs as he had his best round of the tournament on Sunday, 4-under 68. Mazzoli had six birdies for the round and finished in eighth place.
Joining Mazzoli in the top 10 was Hayden Springer. The senior shot even-par 72 in all three rounds and finished with a score of even-par 216.
Senior David Ravetto, who began the day three shots back of first place, finished tied for 13th at 2-over 218. Senior Pierre Mazier joined Ravetto in the top 20 at 4-over 220, which placed him tied for 20th.
Sophomore Trevor Brown had the most impressive round of the day for TCU. The Rice transfer, making his TCU debut, had five birdies in the first five holes and had six in the first nine for a score of 6-under 30. He was chasing the tournament record of 8-under 64, but bogeyed the final two holes for a final round score of 5-under 67, which was a career high.
As a team, TCU shot 4-over 292 for the round and 3-over 867 for the tournament. The Frogs finished one shot behind third place Kansas. No. 18 ranked Texas Tech won the tournament with a score of 6-under 858.
TCU will next be in action at the Southern Highlands Collegiate, March 3-5.
