Horned Frogs hosting tournament in Cabo
SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico -- The TCU women's golf team closes its fall season when it hosts and begins play Friday at the Battle at the Beach in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
The Event
TCU is playing in the Battle at the Beach for the third consecutive fall, but this is its first time hosting the event. The Horned Frogs placed second out of 17 teams last year. TCU concluded play with a school record final-round 277. The Horned Frogs' overall 862 was the fourth best 54-hole score in program history.
Greta Bruner had a final round career-low 67 to finish third, just three strokes off the lead. Grace Do had a career-best finish in tying for ninth, while Sabrina Iqbal and Valeria Pacheco tied for 12th and 24th, respectively.
The event takes place at the par 72, 6,280-yard San Jose Club Campestre. Eighteen holes will be played each day, Friday through Sunday. Friday and Saturday's opening two rounds will have 10:30 a.m. CDT shotgun starts with Sunday at 8:15 a.m. CST.
The Field
Joining TCU in the 16-team field are Augusta, Denver, Kansas State,Indianapolis, Iowa,LSU, Missouri,Nebraska, Ole Miss,San Jose State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UAB, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

The Lineup
TCU's lineup will feature Trinity King, Valeria Pacheco, Sabrina Iqbal, Jennie Park and Grace Do, while Greta Bruner will compete as an individual.
King, a freshman from Arlington, Texas, is second on TCU with a 71.9 stroke average. Eight of her 12 rounds this season have been at par or better.
Pacheco tied a school record with a 64 at the Jim West Challenge in TCU's last tournament. The sophomore from Hallandale Beach, Fla., set career bests with her 4-under 212 and tie for 17th.
Iqbal, an All-Big 12 honoree last season, has a team-best 71.6 stroke average. She has two top-10 finishes this season with 12 top-20 results in her last 14 tournaments. The sophomore from San Jose, Calif., has two sub-70 rounds this season and seven in her career.
A freshman from Carrollton, Texas, Park has played in all four tournaments and is third on TCU with a 72.6 stroke average.
Do has competed in all but one tournament over her three years in the program. She is a junior from Coppell, Texas.
Bruner earned All-Big 12 honors last year. She made her season debut at the Jim West Challenge and will be in her second tournament of the fall.
