Roster features five seniors and seven newcomers
FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU beach volleyball head coach Hector Gutierrez has finalized his 2019-2020 roster which includes seven newcomers.
Among the newcomers includes six freshman and graduate transfer Olivia Beyer of LSU. All six freshman of last year's highly touted recruiting class come from outside of Texas, including Daniela Alvarez, who was the No. 2 Spanish beach volleyball amateur.
Additionally, the Horned Frogs return 10 players from last season's team which tied a program record with 18 wins. The roster also features five seniors, giving the Frogs six players with at least three years of experience and making this roster the most experienced in program history.
The first chance to check out the 2020 roster is this Saturday in the Horned Frogs Fall Challenge. Matches will last all day starting at 10 a.m., and every active player on the roster is expected to see action.

Gutierrez on what makes this roster stand out:
"This year's roster is more physical, and this is what I was looking and hoping for. This is going to be something that is very important for us. We are very excited about that."
Gutierrez on this year's newcomers:
"They hoped that when they got to TCU that they would adapt quickly to the different styles of training and classes. I am hopeful that some of them will have a big impact on the roster throughout the year. We will play a lot of matches year, so there will be changes for sure and opportunities for them to play. I am excited about them, and if they keep working the way that they are now, they will have a good chance to contribute to the team and play."
