Horned Frogs look to repeat as tournament champions
FORT WORTH -- The TCU women's golf team will look to defend its championship at the Jim West Challenge when it begins play Sunday in San Marcos, Texas.
The Event
TCU is playing in the Jim West Challenge for a fourth consecutive fall and won the title at last year's event. The Horned Frogs set a school record with their 54-hole score of 11-under 853, shooting below par in all three rounds. It was the 20th tournament championship in the 26-year era of head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin and marked the first time in her tenure to win back-to-back events. TCU had captured the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational in San Antonio in its previous tournament.
The Jim West Challenge is held at the par 72, 6,033-yard Kissing Tree Golf Club. Thirty-six holes will be played Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Monday's final round will feature 18 holes, also at 8:30 a.m.
The Field
Joining TCU and host Texas State in the 14-team field are Florida State, Houston, Memphis, Miami (Fla.), Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UTSA and UNLV.
