
Horned Frogs Have Strong Opening Round in Vail

Clark's 70 leads TCU into fifth place
VAIL, Colo. -- Annika Clark carded a 2-under-par 70 to lead TCU to a fifth-place standing after Monday's opening round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Vail, Colo.
Clark, the Horned Frogs' lone senior in the lineup, is just two strokes off the lead shared by four players. She totaled three birdies and shot par on 14 holes.
TCU shot a 6-over 294 in its opening round of the season. No. 4 UCLA leads with a 277.
"We competed with grit and confidence today," TCU women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "With our first round under our belt, we did a lot of things really well and know what we need to improve on.
"Good things are in store for this team."
Freshman Sabrina Iqbal, in her TCU debut, recorded consecutive birdies on holes 4 and 5 en route to a 1-over 73. She finished with three birdies and is tied for 20th individually.
Greta Bruner posted a 75. She had a birdie while shooting par on 15 holes. Grace Do had a pair of birdies in contributing a 76 for the Horned Frogs.
