Horned Frogs to open their 2018-19 campaign
FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf team opens its 2018-19 season Monday when it begins play at the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Vail, Colo.
The Event
The Horned Frogs are playing in the Golfweek Conference Challenge for the sixth consecutive fall. The event is held at the par 72, 6,261-yard Red Sky Golf Club on the Fazio Course. The 54-hole event will feature 18 holes each day. TCU tied for 13th at last year's event with Emmy Martin finishing seventh individually. Annika Clark, keyed by a final-round 69, tied for 17th.
The Field
In addition to TCU, the 18-team field includes Campbell, Central Arkansas, Delaware, Denver, East Tennessee State, Georgia, Jacksonville, Nebraska, Pepperdine, UC Riverside, Sacramento State, San Diego State, SMU, Southern Miss, Troy, UCLA and Virginia Tech.

The Lineup
TCU's lineup will be Annika Clark, Greta Bruner, Valeria Pacheco, Sabrina Iqbal and Grace Do.
Pacheco and Iqbal, both freshmen, will be making their TCU debuts.
Pacheco, from Hallandale Beach, Fla., captured medalist honors at the 2018 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship with a final-round 66. She has been a member of the Puerto Rico Junior National Team since 2011 and was the 2016 Puerto Rico Amateur National Champion. She also won the 2017 Annika Invitational Latin America in Argentina.
Iqbal, a San Jose, Calif., native, qualified for the 2018 U.S. Women's Golf Amateur Championship. She is a four-time Junior Tour of Northern California Player of the Year. She also won the 2016 California Women's Amateur Championship and is a two-time AJGA champion and Northern California Golf Association Women's Player of the Year.
Clark ranks second in TCU history with a 74.7 career stroke average, trailing only Kelly McGovern (74.6, 2015-17). The lone senior in the Horned Frogs' lineup, Clark has 11 career top-20 results with six in the top 10. The Highlands, Texas, native will be playing in the Golfweek Conference Challenge for a fourth time.
Bruner represented the Horned Frogs as an individual at last year's NCAA Regional in Austin. She had a team-best 74.4 stroke average on the season. The junior from The Woodlands, Texas, was TCU's top finisher in its last four tournaments a year ago, posting a top-20 result each time.
Do played in all 10 tournaments as a freshman last season. The Coppell, Texas, native had a 75.7 stroke average.
