IRVING, Texas -- TCU women's golfer Brooke McDougald has been appointed Chair of the 2018-19 Big 12 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
The Big 12 SAAC provides representatives from each of its member institutions an avenue of engagement within the NCAA and Big 12 governance structure, the ability to develop leadership skills beyond their athletic experience and to educate their fellow student-athletes with information to share with institutional SAAC that assists with decisions that influence student-athletes on campus.
"I am thrilled to have been elected chair of the Big 12 SAAC," McDougald said. "At TCU, we talk a lot about 'Legacy,' which to me means leaving a place better than you found it. I really believe the Big 12 provides an opportunity for its SAAC members to make a positive impact on collegiate athletics, and I'm honored to be representing such a strong organization."
A senior from The Woodlands, Texas, McDougald is a two-time First-Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree and Women's Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar. The communication studies major ranks 13th in TCU history with a 75.9 stroke average. She played in nine of 10 tournaments last season.
"I am so proud of Brooke," TCU head women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "This is a reflection of her integrity, leadership and positive influence on others. We will represent the Big 12 with character and class!"
