
TCU Remains in Top 20

FORT WORTH, Texas – Despite having last week off, TCU's men's track and field team remains in the top 20 of the USTFCCCA national rankings, coming in at No.18. TCU has ranked as high as No. 14 this season and has been in the top 20 for five consecutive weeks.
TCU is the fourth highest ranked team from the Big 12 and fifth highest from the South Central region. The Big 12 has five teams ranked in the top 25, trailing only the SEC which has eight teams.
The men's team has several high individual national, regional, and Big 12 ranks. TCU has five marks in the top 25 nationally, 14 regional marks, and 16 marks in the top eight of the Big 12.
Two Horned Frogs rank in the top 10 nationally in the triple jump. Multi-time All-American Scotty Newton ranks No. 3 with a school record 16.57m (54'4.5") jump, followed by indoor bronze medalist Chengetayi Mapaya at No. 7 with a 16.25m (53'3.75") jump.
Derrick Mokaleng ranks No. 6 nationally in the 400m. At the Sun Angel Classic, Mokelang ran a personal-best 45.17.
In the event squad rankings, TCU's hammer throw ranks No. 3 in NCAA D1. Fellan McGuigan leads the team with a 64.46m (211'5") throw, followed by Ryan Camp at 62.73m (205'9"), Justin Sanchez at 59.34m (194'8"), and Isaiah Rogers at 57.96m (190'2").
The Horned Frogs resume action this weekend in Waco, Texas, at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The meet is scheduled for Friday-Sunday, May 11-13.
