
Three Frogs Advance on Day One

SACRAMENTO, Calif. â€" The TCU track and field team began competition at the NCAA West Preliminaries on Thursday, where three Horned Frogs advanced to Friday's quarterfinals.
TCU's two 100m runners both advanced to the quarterfinals. Emeilo Ferguson won his heat with a season-best time of 10.32, while Jalen Miller qualified with a 10.34 mark.
Derrick Mokaleng advanced in the 400m, running 46.53. Mokaleng ran the eighth fastest time in the first round and the fastest among Big 12 runners.
Friday's action includes the 100m and 400m quarterfinals with the top 12 in each advancing to the NCAA National Championship meet in Eugene. Ryan Camp will compete in the discus quarterfinals with a chance to move on to Eugene. Brittney Trought and Yasmin Brooks will run in the first round of the 100 hurdles, while Darrion Flowers and Tinotenda Matiyenga will run in the first round of the 200m.
