
Fisher, MacLean Named Academic All-Big 12

Fisher earned first team honors, while MacLean was on the second team.
It is the second-straight season for Fisher to receive first team honors. The business major is coming off of his second-straight top 10 finish after recorded a team-best seventh place at the El Macero Classic on Sunday. Fisher has lowered his score vs. par by almost three strokes from last season, +4.26 to +1.63. The Southlake, Texas native shot a career-best 1-under 215 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Feb. 18.
MacLean, a management major, earned first team honors last season. The Fort Worth native has also improved greatly over last season. MacLean has lowered his score vs. par by nearly three strokes, +3.26 to +0.80. After shooting at par or better in six rounds last season, MacLean has done so 17 times this season. He tied a career-best 6-under par 210 at the Carmel Cup in the season opener at Pebble Beach.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, the student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
Fisher, MacLean and the No. 31-ranked men's golf team will next compete at the Big 12 Championship, April 23-25 at Sothern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
