On Saturday, the Horned Frogs will take on New Orleans (10 a.m. CT), LSU (2 p.m. CT) and Jacksonville State (4 p.m. CT), while on Sunday, they will meet familiar opponents Houston Baptist (8 a.m. CT) and No. 11 Georgia State (12 p.m. CT).
LAST TIME OUT
The Horned Frogs went 2-2 at the Seminole Beach Battle in Tallahassee, Florida. TCU beat No. 11 Georgia State, 4-1, and UAB, 5-0. The Frogs' losses came to No. 7 Florida State and No. 18 Florida Atlantic.
For the weekend, four pairs went .500 or better with Haven Hill and Cassie House going 3-1, and Molly Scheel and Jensyn Bledsoe going 2-1 followed by Avery Arellano and Hannah Rogers, and Brooke Sassin and Jordan Westendorff each going 2-2.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
NEW ORLEANS (3-14): The Privateers have lost eight consecutive matches … This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
NO. 8 LSU (19-9): The Tigers enter the weekend on a 12-match winning streak … The Horned Frogs picked up their first win over a ranked team in school history when they beat the No. 10 Tigers 3-2 on April 30, 2016 … The all-time series is tied at 1-1. … LSU won the last meeting 3-2 on March 24, 2016, at the Horned Frog Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.
JACKSONVILLE STATE (2-19): The Gamecocks have lost 12 of their last 13 matches with their only win coming 5-0 over Huntingdon on April 3. … This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
HOUSTON BAPTIST (10-11): The Huskies enter the weekend having lost two of their last three matches … The Frogs beat HBU 4-1 on Feb. 24 in the Horned Frog Challenge … TCU leads the all-time series 5-0.
NO. 11 GEORGIA STATE (20-8): The two teams will be meeting for the third time this year … The Frogs beat GSU 4-1 last weekend at the Seminole Beach Battle … TCU leads the all-time series 2-1.
