March 12, 2018 FORT WORTH – TCU junior pitcher Jared Janczak has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for his performance on Friday at USC. The honor is the first of the season for the Horned Frogs and the third of Janczak's career.
Janczak (1-1) was brilliant over the course of seven innings, allowing just five base runners and never facing more than four batters in any one inning. Only one batter reached second on his watch and that came on a two-out double in the sixth. He finished the night with eight strikeouts.
Janczak was previously honored on March 20 and April 17, 2017.
TCU returns to the diamond Tuesday night at Rice. First pitch is slated for 6:30 at Reckling Park.
