
Wade Named Big 12 Player of the Week

FORT WORTH – TCU junior outfielder Austen Wade was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for his performance in helping TCU sweep No. 16 Oklahoma State this past weekend.
Wade led the Frogs with a .455 batting average while also posting a .571 on-base percentage thanks to drawing three walks. He was a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen bases, two of his five hits went for doubles and he tallied two RBIs out of the lead-off spot. Defensively, he contributed two outfield assists.
In game one, Wade went 3-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base. His first outfield assist of the weekend came in the sixth inning and helped keep the game tied at three as he threw out a runner at third base. In game two, Wade was 1-for-2 with two walks and scored two runs. He posted his second outfield assist of the weekend, throwing out the potential go-ahead run in the sixth inning. Additionally, he scored the eventual game-winning run in the seventh inning. In the series finale, he went 1-for-5 with a run scored.
Wade is the third Horned Frog to earn Big 12 accolades this season. Luken Baker was named the Player of the Week on March 6 and Jared Janczak was selected the Pitcher of the Week on March 20.
