The Rundown
The Horned Frogs are looking to build upon a strong opening to their spring season when they finished fourth, just six strokes off the lead, at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 12-14).
The Dickson is a 54-hole event that will feature 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday. It will be held at the par 72, 6,296-yard The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course. TCU's Brooke McDougald and Kelly McGovern, both natives of The Woodlands, will be playing on their home course.
The 16-team field at The Dickson includes nine ranked opponents. The Horned Frogs are 53-30 against all opponents this season, including 19 wins over top-50 programs.
Quotable
"We are thrilled to play in such a prestigious tournament," TCU head women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "This will be fun with a `hometown' crowd since two of our players are from The Woodlands. We will have a ton of family support and lots of synergy throughout the week.
"We have some strong momentum from our last event and excited to climb to even greater heights."
Horned Frogs to Watch
TCU will feature the same five players it had at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. The lineup will be Emmy Martin, Annika Clark, Brooke Graebe, McDougald and McGovern, who is the lone senior. Martin is a junior with the three other Horned Frogs in their sophomore year.
Martin's 72.8 stroke average is on pace to set a TCU single-season record, breaking Graebe's mark of 73.6 from last year. Graebe has improved her average this year to 73.2.
Martin was the top Horned Frog individual at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, tying for ninth with a 2-over 218. It was the third straight top-10 result for the junior from Odessa, Fla. She was only three strokes off the lead as five players tied for individual medalist honors at 215.
Martin is ranked 54th nationally by Golfweek, while Graebe is 68th. A Yorba Linda, Calif., native, Graebe has 12 top-20 finishes in 16 collegiate tournaments.
Clark, who tied for 16th at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, is third on TCU with a 74.3 stroke average.
McGovern has a pair of top-12 results in her last three tournaments to go with a 74.7 season mark. McDougald has a 75.9 average.
