Beach: Purple & White Scrimmage is Saturday

FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU Beach Volleyball fans will get their first look at the 2017 Horned Frogs Saturday morning at the annual Purple & White Scrimmage.
The scrimmage will begin at 9 a.m. at the beach courts and will run throughout the morning.
"The girls are ready to start competing," TCU Beach Volleyball coach Hector Gutierrez said. "We want to show all the hard work we've already done to our families, the university and our fans. We are going to learn a lot of good things about ourselves from this weekend."
The Purple & White Scrimmage is the first of two opportunities fans will have to see the Frogs at home. The second will come March 24-25 when TCU hosts LSU, Arizona State and Arizona in the Horned Frog Challenge.
The Horned Frogs open the regular season March 3-4 at the Grand Canyon Tournament in Phoenix where they will meet Colorado Mesa and Loyola Marymount on opening day before closing out the tournament the following day with host Grand Canyon and New Mexico.
