* Kansas offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Doug Meacham was TCU's co-OC and inside receivers coach the previous three seasons (2014-16).
* KU co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach Kenny Perry was TCU's cornerbacks coach in 2014, after serving as the Horned Frogs' director of high school relations in 2013.
* Perry was previously the head coach at nearby Arlington Bowie High School, where he coached TCU cornerback Tony James and safety Niko Small.

* TCU has a 29-2 record in the three seasons it came off a non-winning record in the 17-year tenure of head coach Gary Patterson. The Horned Frogs were 11-1 and Mountain West champions in 2005 after a 5-6 campaign in 2004. TCU went 12-1 with Big 12 and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl championships in 2014 following a 4-8 season in 2013. TCU is 6-0 this season after last year's 6-7 campaign.
* TCU's 35-10 overall record over the last four seasons is tied for the best mark in the Big 12. Its 22-8 record in conference play is second.
