FORT WORTH – With the release of the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) poll, TCU is officially the consensus No. 1 team in the country, earning the top spot in all six major polls.
TCU has earned a preseason No. 1 ranking for the first time in four polls (Baseball America, Perfect Game, USA Today Coaches Poll and D1Baseball.com) and its second No. 1 ranking from two polls (Collegiate Baseball and NCBWA), both coming in 2011.
Additionally, the NCBWA has tabbed five Horned Frogs as preseason All-Americans. Luken Baker was named to the first-team, while Elliott Barzilli, Durbin Feltman and Evan Skoug were named to the third team. Brian Howard was named to the third team.
The Frogs are one of three Big 12 schools to be ranked as Texas Tech checks in at No. 17 and Oklahoma State at No. 22. TCU's schedule features seven other schools ranked in the Top 35 in No. 3 LSU, No. 20 Texas A&M, No. 24 Rice, No. 27 Ole Miss, No. 28 Long Beach State, No. 31 Dallas Baptist and No. 35 Arizona State.
TCU opens up the 2017 schedule on Feb. 17 when it hosts Penn State for a three game set.
