ABOUT THE GAME
*TCU opens its fifth season in the Big 12 Conference when it hosts Iowa State at 11 a.m.
*TCU has the Big 12's best overall record (24-4) and conference mark (15-3) over the last three seasons.
*Dating back to last year, three of TCU's last four games have gone to multiple overtimes: a 28-21 win versus Baylor in double OT, a 47-41 victory over Oregon in triple OT at the Valero Alamo Bowl and a 41-38 defeat in double OT last week to Arkansas.
*TCU is 31-11 in regular-season games following a loss under Gary Patterson.
*Patterson is 4-1 as a head coach versus Iowa State.
*The Horned Frogs are playing at home for a third straight game for the first time since 2011, when it hosted ULM, Portland State and SMU in consecutive weeks.

*TCU and Iowa State will be meeting for just the eighth time in their history.
*The Horned Frogs hold a 6-1 series lead. Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, TCU is 3-1 versus Iowa State.
*TCU is 2-1 versus Iowa State in Fort Worth, 3-0 in Ames and 1-0 at neutral sites (2005 Houston Bowl).
*In the Cyclones' last visit to Fort Worth, TCU won 55-3 in the 2014 regular-season finale to capture its first Big 12 championship.
*Iowa State took a 37-23 victory in 2012 in the Horned Frogs' first-ever Big 12 home game. It also snapped a 12-game TCU winning streak that was the longest in the nation at the time.
*Prior to TCU beginning Big 12 play in 2012, the teams had not met since a 27-24 Horned Frogs' victory in the 2005 Houston Bowl.

*TCU head coach Gary Patterson's first game on the Horned Frogs' sideline was a 31-21 victory at Iowa State in 1998. Patterson was TCU's defensive coordinator at the time.
